2026 Coaching Application

Coaching Application

Thank you for your interest in coaching. Our league is 100% volunteer-driven, and our coaches play a critical role in creating a positive, fun, and developmental experience for every player on the field.

All prospective coaches are required to complete a coaching application each season. This process allows the league to properly evaluate interest, organize coaching staffs, and ensure that every team is supported.

Coaches are selected and approved by the PYFFL Board of Directors based on a number of factors, including prior experience, league needs, and overall fit within the program. Only two coaches are assigned to each team prior to the player draft. A third coach may be added after the draft, at the league’s discretion, with a maximum of three coaches per team.

Submission of an application does not guarantee a coaching position, as placements are limited and determined by the number of teams and available roster spots.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of registration. By applying, you are committing to support PYFFL’s mission of providing a structured, inclusive, and enjoyable environment where players can learn, improve, and have fun.

Practices

Coaches are responsible for selecting a weekly practice time from the league’s available field and time slot options. Each team will hold one weekday practice per week, and the selected day and time will remain consistent throughout the season.

Games

Opening Day is Sunday, August 30th, 2026 and regular season games run through the last weekend in October. Playoffs are the first two weekends in November.

Games take place on Sundays between 8am - 3pm with each team also having at least one Friday night game under the lights.

Where

Games are all held at the Mattakeesett Street Field Complex. Practices happen at one of the Pembroke elementary schools, Pembroke Middle School, or at the field complex.

2026

All prospective Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches must complete a coaching application, be at least 18 years of age, successfully pass a CORI background check, and sign all required waivers to be considered for the 2026 PYFFL season. Although not required, candidates are encouraged to apply in tandem as a Head Coach and Assistant Coach pairing.

Submitting a coaching application does not guarantee selection. We are incredibly grateful for the strong interest each year from individuals who want to be part of our program. Coaching assignments are competitive and are carefully evaluated.

All coaching positions are one-season appointments. Previous PYFFL coaching experience does not guarantee selection, and coaches selected for the 2026 season should not assume they will automatically be chosen in future seasons. The full PYFFL Board votes on and approves all coaching assignments each year.

Our coaches set the tone for sportsmanship, player safety, skill development, and the overall experience our athletes have throughout the season. We are committed to providing a structured, positive, and well-run program, and that begins with selecting dedicated, responsible leaders who understand the impact they have on young players.

We sincerely appreciate your willingness to volunteer your time and look forward to reviewing your application.
